was born in Iran in 1965. From an early age she discovered a fascination for mathematics, which continues to influence her work to this day. With a varied portfolio, Shirin has exhibited her art at shows worldwide, including the Bronx Museum of the Arts, Sundance Film Festival, FILE 2002 in Sao Paulo-Brazil, Centre D’art Contemporain de Basse-Normandie in Saint Clair-France, ISEA2002 in Japan, D.artNET online Museum of Contemporary Art in Sydney-Australia, and INVIDEO in Milan-Italy. Her successes continue to grow with each project she completes.
“Generally speaking, the quieter the work, the longer the reverberation time. Shirin combines photocopied passport pictures, pages of lined notebook paper and inscribed poetic phrases into monochromatic collages that catch both the chill of officialdom and the sense of an immigrant’s pieced-together dreams of one life remembered and one still ahead. “Holland Cotter, New York Times”.
Since 1998, Shirin has almost wholly embraced interactive/web art. She has developed various websites including 5hirin.com, n3xt.com, and photomontage.com.
