Ryan Gallagher

Ryan Gallagher is a photographer and new/emerging media/net artist based in Austin, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin in Theatre and Dance. He is newly appreciated, with international press publication, gallery, festival, and museum exhibitions in Germany (Hamburg), Italy (Florence), and the United States (Los Angeles). This appreciation stems from his creative photographic work beginning in late 2005 and continued educational and curatorial roles of a public community he inspired down a bizarre path towards a collaborated exploration of a unusual and unexpected experimental photography technique, throwing cameras.

He considers it kinetic photography that employs a physical algorithm and welcomes a degree of chance, performance, and a generative quality. He has created/curated participatory internet components of his exhibitions and is undertaking, among other projects, a repeatable interactive media workshop to be presented initially at the Festival Della Creativita 2007 in Florence, Italy.
