Rubén García Villaplana
Rubén García (1974) biologist, sound artist and curator based in Valencia city.
Since the mid 1990s he has explored various approaches to sound generation, recording and production. His techniques range from the manipulation of broken and modified turntables and tape recorders, the capture of acoustic phenomenon through environmental field recordings to digital multi-tracking and manipulation.
less interested in traditional idea of recording nature he´s more focused in the power of sound itself and his potential as raw material for artistic creation.
He´s artistic director of EOZOÖN editions label and curator of sound art project in Observatori art festival of Valencia, coordinator of ((VIBRA)) concert series at OCCC (Valencia) and some other events and activities.
He has edited diverse works in labels of Europe, South america and Australia and also some works for dance companies.
