As a sound artist, I consider acoustic fields as a medium relating bodies and space through dynamic relationships. Playing with perception limits, my sound installations and devices offer very specific way of listening and suggest visitors to focus on their aural attention. In this creative game, analogue or digital audiovisual technologies become a matter to understand, reorganise and reinterpret. In parallel from my sound research, I develop expanded cinema installations in which the deconstruction of cinematic systems offers abstract poetical experiences based on noise and light motion.
After studies in the Villa Arson national art school, Nice, France, and time spent in the Icelandic Academy of the Arts’ sound studio, Reykjavik, I graduated in 2005 obtaining a Master in fine Arts. Guest student in the KHM Klanglabor the next year I get a Ma2 on research in contemporary art theory between Liege and Brussels Universities. My work was then mostly based on the social potential of sound art practices. I am currently working on a doctoral thesis in media art theory in Brussels.
Since 2006, my work has been exhibited in art institutions such as TENT, Rotterdam, the Netherlands, Thurn & Taxis Palace, Bregenz, Austria, Paco das Artes, São Paulo, Brazil, Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart, Germany, Zebrastraat, Ghent, Belgium or the Glaskasten Sculpture Museum, Marl, Germany. I also participated to different film or media art festivals such as City Sonics, Mons, Belgium, Darklight Film Festival, Dublin, Ireland, or more recently to Ososphère, Strasbourg, France. The next event will be the Wro’09 Media Art biennale in Wroclaw, Poland in May.
