I am an artist who is exploring the endless opportunities the field provides as a sophomore attending the School of Art and Design and Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan. I was introduced to sound as art this past semester and was enamored by how its subtle nuances are able to grasp a listener’s attention. Talking to people, letting them know what you know or what you think is a fundamental component of being part of a society—sound graciously caters to this concept. Through the speaker(s) and listener(s) relationship, I am able to relay thought-provoking ideas, without being overbearing. As a person who cherishes human-to-human contact, and who also bases her ethics on that of a biocentrist, I hope to continue pushing myself in my artwork to promote these ideas.
