Interview for SIP – SoundLAB Interview project

Bronwen Casson was Resident Designer at the Irish National (Abbey) Theatre for twenty-five years and during that time designed a considerable number of shows for both the Abbey and Peacock stage.
In 2003 she graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology with an Honours BA degree in Photography and Digital Imaging.
Her graduate piece, a video work entitled “This Business of Living, This Business of Dying” won first prize at the Inl Studenten Median Kunst Festival Heidelberg and has been shown at the Crawford Open 4 Exhibition, and Time Warp Media Art Exhibition, Mannheim. The video work “You, Wind of March” was shown at Poesia Visual Exhibition, Buenos Aires and “Flux” at the Égise Exhibition, Carlow, in June 2005, and “EnGendered Species”: CSULB Gatov and Merlino Galleries, Long Beach. & Advocate Gallery L.A. California, April-May 2006 “I don’t like Mondays”, her most recent work, has been shown at Un/Inhibited- an outdoor video projection event: Cork, Ireland, November 2005 and in “Temporary Identities” at Novosibirsk State Art Museum: Russia, April-May 2006. She is currently undertaking the MA course “Virtual Realities” at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin.
