Interview for SIP – SoundLAB Interview project

short bio:
Alex Hetherington is a visual artist and writer. Films include glasgowland (2003) screened in installations, visual art and film festivals internationally and broadcast on British TV and Magazines of Beauty 2005 (2005), extracts of which were screened at Prog:Me Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This film connected physical spaces within an institution in Scotland with the work of American performance artist Chris Burden. Other projects include the installation The Fictitious On Kawara and a four-screen video installation presented at the Edinburgh International Festival 2005. He is a contributor to Stretcher magazine, San Francisco and has published writing on visual art and cinema in a number of publications in the UK. He recently collaborated with Sally Hobson on a live art project presented in Edinburgh, 2006. He is currently undertaking a residency at Scottish Sculpture Workshops where he is developing a number of works based on the Wooster Group’s House/Lights.
