Valerie Garlick is a video artist and photographer working in new media to consider the sociological implications of technology and desire. She has exhibited nationally and internationally, including Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York, Philadelphia and most recently, at the 2009 Kurye International Video Festival, Istanbul. In 2006 she held a solo exhibition of photography and video, Consumption Body at the Samuel T. Chen Fine Arts Center in New Britain, Connecticut. Valerie received her MFA from University of Connecticut in 2008 and her BA from Central Connecticut State University in 2006. From 2008 through early 2009 Valerie was a BAT Chashama resident artist. She currently maintains a studio in Brooklyn, New York and is assistant editor of Vector Productions, planning to curate a video compilation and screening for early 2010.
