Robin Diane Brasington is an artist who works primarily with digital video. She was born and raised in a rural town in the USA. In1999 she started attending the Atlanta College of Art where she received a BFA. In 2006 Robin earned a MFA from the Media Study Department of SUNY University at Buffalo. Robin also spent time in Weimar, Germany as a guest student at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar.
Robin performs using her body as a tool. The polymorphic style of her work is echoed throughout her videos, which draw inspiration from the information overload of modern life in a capitalist nation. Memory is sometimes an element in Robin’s work. Her memories are not portrayed as flashbacks but are transformed into new events and spectacles. Spontaneity is also important to Robin in both the things she records and her editing style.
