Ligia Pintado, borned in Toluca in 1979, has been developing her work in many directions: as filmmaker, editor, poet, singer and dancer. She studied a BA in Latin-American Studies at the UNAM, a major that reaches out to many disciplines in the social sciences and humanities. Her poetry book “Nido de Luciérnagas” has been published in Mexico, and she has worked as a scriptwriter and editor for independent producers as OJO DE AGUA ARTE Y PRODUCCIÓN, PALMERA FILMS and KMZ PRODUCCIONES and tv nacional cultural stations such as CANAL 22, ONCE TV, ILCE and TEVE UNAM. As a filmaker she produced two documentaries and a Collection of videopoetry pieces with LANAVE. Currently Ligia is the singer of a fulk-fusion band, collaborates as creative director with Tania Galindo, dancer and coreographer, in the interdisciplinary proyects of Butoh Chilango, and works with her sister, Itzia Pintado, producing experimental video pieces searching the posibilities of web and new media.
