Jose Collazo Méndez
Born in Vigo, Spain, in 1982. BEng. in Electronic and Microelectronic Systems Engineering by the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, in the UK. Study music since 8. 6 years in the Official Superior Conservatory of Music of Vigo with Viola as main instrument. Certified Contemporary Musician Musinetwork Boston. Masterclasses in the Amado Roldán Conservatory of Music of La Habana, Cuba, Contemporary Composition courses in Madrid, Hong Kong, introduction to Hindi music in Varanasi, to Chinese music in Shanghai… I studied Emergent Art in the “Instituto Superior de Arte de Madridâ€. I play from classical guitar to old Chinese instruments, piano, flutes… I mix classical instruments with real time multi-effects units for electric guitar or computer generated effects. I have received two videoart international awards; one from Spain and other from Andorra. I have exhibited several works in different exhibitions, wrote several experimental soundtracks for experimental short movies showed in international festivals and I have performed in the 8th edition of the Street Music Concert in Hong Kong among other things.
