Ewan McDougall
was born in Stornoway, Outer Hebrides, Scotland in 1980 and graduated with an Ba/Hons from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design in 2002.
He hopes to study for a Master in Fine Art/ Electronic Imaging oversees to gain a greater and different perspective in the use of digital media.
His work concerns the reality created with digital media. The virtual space we perceive inside the cathode ray tube or projected onto the concrete reality. By evading the viewers expectations and manipulating the images we see, he asks us to question our precept of where the virtual exists.
Recently he has begun experimenting with broadcast television and internet streaming.
He was awarded an honorary mention for the digital movie ‘not not box’ at the end 2002 in theCanon Digital Creators Contest
He has started exhibiting, most recently in Tokyo in the Canon Digital Creators Contest 2002 Showand in the Liverpool Biennial 2002 in the Static Gallery.
He is presently studying at Glasgow University for a MSc in IT and developing the Game, a projectusing video, multiples and the world wide web. Please look at www.futileGames.org in the Summer of 2004.
