Wetmore dissects the maternal and feminine body and uses it for surreal transformations through sculpture, video, photography, and large digital wall drawings. Wetmore explores the humor, social impact, and fantastic aspects of natural physical transformations, like pregnancy, and diverse psychological states. Ellen Wetmore was born in 1972 in Madison, Wisconsin. Represented by the Boston Sculptors Gallery, Ms. Wetmore has also exhibited at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, the Fitchburg Art Museum, the Duxbury Art Complex Museum, the Trustman Gallery at Simmons College, and the DeCordova Art Museum and Sculpture Park.
