Bibi Calderaro

Bibi Calderaro’s work has been shown individually in Argentina, Mexico, France, Slovak Republic and the US since 1995. She has participated in group exhibitions such as MEMORY AND LANDSCAPE in La Casa Encendida in Madrid and CAAM in Tenerife, Canary Islands in 2004; AIM23 at the Bronx Museum for the Arts in New York in 2003; THE S-FILES at the Museo del Barrio in New York in 2002; BEYOND THE DOCUMENT, Versions of the South at the Museo Nacional Reina Sofía in Madrid in 2000 and the Museum of Modern Art Photography Collection in Buenos Aires in 1999, among others. Her films and video work have been shown in festivals in Canada, France, Germany, Croatia, Argentina, and the US. She is recipient of the AIM Program, 2003; Arts Recovery Fund, NYFA 2002; Aaron Siskind Fellowship Grant, 1998; and The Studio and Workshop Fellowship Grant with Guillermo Kuitca, 1994-95, among others. She holds a BA from Wesleyan University, 1988 and an MFA from CUNY Queens College, 2006.
In the Spring of 2006 she co-organized “Gift and Commodity, Transactions in Contemporary Art Practice,” a panel discussion that included Mierle Laderman Ukeles and Rirkrit Tiravanija among others, for CUNY Queens College at Art in General, New York.
