Alfonso Carrasco was born in Mexico, where he studied Arts and violoncello, attending the Bachelor of music at the University of Xalapa (Veracruz). As part of his musical training, he integrated various orchestras in Mexico, as the Youth Orchestra of the State of Veracruz. He has lived and worked in Barcelona for four years, where he has studied refresher courses of instrumental music at the Conservatorio del Liceu, and the degree of Composition and New Technologies at the Pompeu Fabra University. He participated in concerts of contemporary music in galleries in Barcelona, as in the Space of Contemporary Art Niu. In 2007, he participated in the 5th International Competition for Electroacoustic Miniatures organized by the Government of Andalusia. In 2008, he took part in the Zeppelin Festival in Barcelona in the Contemporary Culture Centre of Barcelona (CCCB), in the Transhift 08 Festival in Knoxville (Tennessee), the 7th International Image Festival of Manizales (Colombia) and the Fabbrica Europa 08 Festival, in Florence (Italy), where he presented a sound work that was also selected to be broadcasted on the Papesse Italian radio. His works were also selected this year to take part in the Chicago Sound Experience Festival, the Stripart 2008 Festival in Barcelona, the In-Sonora IV 2008 Festival in Madrid and the 2008 Yeosu International Art Festival Garden of Delights, in South Korea. In November, his work B.I.O was selected to participate in the MOVE new media, the first digital sound fair in Spain which took place in La Coruña.
