Richard O’Sullivan was born in England and grew up in South Wales. After moving to Los Angeles to study film direction in 2001, he became interested in video as an art form. Inspired by the contradictions of the Californian landscape and memories of home, his artwork explores landscapes and the meanings of place. He also produces documentaries, which follow personal narratives. His work has been shown at the New York Video Festival in Lincoln Centre (2007), Moscow Film Festival (2008), the Lucca Film Festival (2007), Dresden Film Festival (2008), Optica Video Art Festival (Spain, 2007) and La Isle Video Screenings (Rio, 2007). In 2006 he gained an MFA in Film Production from UCLA Film School. He currently lives in the UK.
