following many years as a musician, simon became increasingly interested in natural sounds and rhythms. invited to join a group of artists for ‘a dark light’ to compose a soundtrack to accompany the exhibition, he began taking field recordings in iceland, to use site specific sounds to add to the evocative nature of the visual pieces. the response to the recordings has been phenomenal, with the work being released as an album by filament recordings this month, and prompting future collaboration with installation artist howard silverman.
