Robyn B. Yost
is a new media performance artist using sound as the foundation for alternative media and live action to take place. Her work hinges on the interaction of real time performance events with prerecorded and found material. Searching for understanding, meaning, and connection her work explores the condition and contrast of living in a world infiltrated with mass media and the individual, personal, bodily experience. She’s interested in how people’s personal lives reflect the environment and how the environment affects people’s individuality.
Robyn B. Yost received her B.F.A for theater at New York University’s Experimental Theater Wing. She went on to study film at the New York Film Academy. She has begun her M.F.A in the Performance Interactive Media Arts program at Brooklyn College. She’s performed in various venues around New York City including P.S 122 in lower Manhattan, and Galapagos in Williamsburg Brooklyn. Currently she’s in the process of opening up her own performance space in Bushwick Brooklyn.
