Robert Sazdov
Robert Sazdov is a composer/performer/multi-media artist/producer/re-mixer/lecturer currently based in Sydney. He has been composing multi-media and/or multi-channel neo traditional Macedonian works since 1991. Robert’s recent (2003-current) performances include: Spark Festival 2005 Concert – University of Minnesota, Minneapolis; Planetary Collegium, Consciousness Reframed Conference 2004 Concert – Central Conservatorium of Music, Beijing; 60×60 Concert 2004, St Marks, New York City; Computer Music Concert 2004, National University of Music, Bucharest; Harvest Moon Symposium 2004, Multi-Channel Concert, Concordia University, Montreal; Tronicphosis Festival 2004,Wollongong (Aus); Sonic Connections Symposium 2004, University of Wollongong, Wollongong (Aus); ACMC 2004 Concert, Victoria University, Wellington (NZ); 100 th Year Celebration of Ilinden 2003, Sydney Opera House, Sydney; ACMC 2003 Concert, Edith Cowan University, Perth (Aus). He has collaborated with many internationally acclaimed artists/ensembles including DD Synthesis, The Dragan Dautovski Trio, the ‘Queen of Macedonian Song’ Vaska Ilieva and the Bisserov Sisters. He has received critical acclaim for his neo-traditional Macedonian compositions/performances from respected Macedonian commentator and artist Vasil Hadzimanov. His recording project Maxim has been released throughout Europe, Canada and received national radio play in Australia. Also, his music is being released on the upcoming Capstone Records release of 60×60 2004. Robert established and coordinated the Creative Technologies program at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts – Edith Cowan University [2002-4]. Robert also established and headed the Contemporary Music Centre at Western Sydney Institute [1997-2000]. He has lectured or tutored at the Macquarie University, the Australian Institute of Music, SAE Technology Institute, and the University of New South Wales. Currently, he lecturers in Electronic Arts at the University of Western Sydney and has recently taken an appointment at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music’s Australian Centre for Research into Music Performance (ACARMP). Robert is the current serving Promotions Officer for the Australasian Computer Music Association.
