title of video : Hoax De-signification , 2020, 3:09
This video features 64 collaborators who each say one word. Each word is part of the hoaxes that circulated in Indonesian society during the COVID-19 pandemic. In the video, all participants said each word simultaneously to make the sentence less clear. This concept originates from Ferdinand de Saussure’s theory of Syntagm. The idea is about word chain in the sentence that determines the meaning. When the chain of Syntagm broke, the sentence lost its meaning.
