Short biography
Marco Albert (aka Maikko) is a 38-year-old musician and audiovisual performer who has been developing his practice in electronic music around such issues as the relationship with visuals, improvisation and field recordings.
He is cofounding member of Otolab, an audiovisual collective laboratory in Milano, Italy. Otolab was founded in 2001 and has since been active in Italy and abroad with interactive audiovisual installations, dj/vj gigs, livemedia audiovisual performances and at seminars and panels.
Marco is also founder and leader of Newtone2060, an electroacoustic impro-rock trio with drummer Cristiano Calcagnile and turntablist Salvatore Sammartino.
He has released solo music albums on independent labels such as Polarity Records, Stasisfield and Gruenrekorder.
