Laura Brocken was chosen as a winner of the Branchage Boot Camp 2008, a week-long mentored film-making scheme taking place within the inaugural Branchage Jersey International Film Festival. Sponsored by Channel TV, Laura worked alongside professionals including her mentor Chris Blaine, one half of the award-winning Blaine brothers, to produce the film. Laura attended the University of Lincoln in England to study Media Production. Whilst at University she completed work experience with CBBC in London and TV3 in Dublin and after graduating flew to the USA to attend the New York Film Academy. Whilst living there she directed a number of short films, crewed many others and gained a Diploma in Advanced Filmmaking and Directing.
