Kyong Mee Choi
Kyong Mee Choi mainly works for chamber, electroacoustic, interactive, and multi-media music. As an active painter, she explores a dynamic marriage of texture and colors. She has had many compositions recognized in numerous places: Luigi Russolo, ASCAP/SEAMUS, Concurso Internacional de Música Eletroacústica de São Paulo, ACMC, MUSICA CONTEMPORANEA, Third Practice, ICMC, Electroacoustic Musical Festival in Santiago de Chile, Bourges, Spectrum Press, Merging Voices, Music Beyond Performance, EMM, NODUS, CMS, MUSICA NOVA. Recently she won the second prize at VI CIMESP 2005 Concurso Internacional de Música Eletroacústica de SãoPaulo, and was awarded the ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Composition Commission 1st prize Award. Her art show will open on May 5 at High Cross Studio. In the fall of 2006, she will be joining the music faculty at Roosevelt University in Chicago.
