(Anadia, Portugal, 1960). Graduated with a degree in Modern Languages and Literature from the University of Coimbra in 1984. He concluded his graduate degree in Art Management at the Institute of European Studies in Macau in 1998. He received scholarships from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation in 1994, the Oriente Foundation from 1999 to 2009, the Camões Institute in 2001, the Portuguese Center of Photography in 2003 and the Institute of Arts (Pontuais) in 2006, 2007 and 2008. In 2005, he commissioned “My Own Private Picturesâ€, at the Plataforma Revólver, in the scope of the LisboaPhoto. He was nominated for the BESPhoto 2005 prize (January to March of 2006, CCB, Lisbon). In 2006, he showed his photography and videos in the following expositions: “Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlinâ€, Jeu de Paume; “Catódica: International Videoart reviewâ€, Trieste; “Festival Númeroâ€, Teatro S. Jorge, Lisbon; “Momentos da vÃdeo-arte portuguesa contemporâneaâ€, (PhotoEspaña) C. Cultural Conde Duque, Madrid; “Portuguese Screen. Videoart Showcaseâ€, Museu do Chiado, Lisbon and “BESPhotoâ€, CCB, Lisbon. In 2007, he exhibited individually “Video Killled The Painting Starsâ€, Galeria Solar-Arte Cinemática, Vila do Conde and Plataforma Revólver, Lisbon (video) and “It´s a lonely Planet – Part Iâ€, Galeria VPF Cream Art, Lisbon (photography). And in 2008, â€The Return Of The Real 2â€, Museu do Neo-Realismo, V. F. Xira (video and photography).
