Jo Pearson
is a multidisciplinary artist whose previous film and web work has been funded by the Arts Council, Channel 4 and the BBC. Her work has been shown on British television as well as in dozens of festivals worldwide.
She studied at Leeds University, Central St Martins, Birkbeck College, Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and more recently Manchester Metropolitan University.
Her embryonic but unique performance work has grown out of a developing interest in… performance. Through various online and ‘live’ personae she explores, often from an absurd perspective and with acerbic wit, wide-ranging themes which include life in general to life in detail. And art. And even the environment, sometimes.
Treading a very fine line between art, pop, poetry, musical, music hall, cabaret and karaoke, this is the sound of New York-shire and its underground regenerating…
Recent ‘live’ performances and broadcasts have included Vaudeville (Green Room), Victoria Baths, (Network@Futuresonic), Artradio, (Cornerhouse)
