Elena Cologni (Italy)

Elena Cologni

Cologni was born in Italy where she took a Painting Degree at the Brera Academy of Art in Milan. She took a Master in Sculpture at the University of Leeds. She is now completing a Ph.D. at Central Saint Martins College. Her thesis ‘The artist’s performative practice within the anti-ocularcentric discourse’ includes the artist’s artistic research placed within the theoretical ground. Spanning from performance Art, interactive installations, digital video and photography, her work is mainly concerned with issues of identity, displacement and memory in relation to senses, and the psychological consequences of their investigation on the artist and the audience. Cologni’ s work has been shown internationally both in art and academic contexts.
