Debra Petrovitch is an Experimental Artist in Electronic Media, Performance. She is also an Academic, Mother and Musician. Debra has been awarded for her Interactive CD Rom ‘Uncle Bill’ at the ‘13th Festival of Electronic Art – Videobrasil’ and worked with Tracey Moffett (soundscape – ‘Nightcries’ – Cannes Film Festival ), Audio Visual Sequences for Tess de Quincey – ‘Nerve Nine’ Butoh Theatre. She is also a Lecturer/Tutor in Electronic Media (University of Sydney and NSW Australia).
Besides this she has been in numerous Gothic/Industrial/Experimental/Non-determinable Bands including: ‘God Meat God’, “ha Ha Wall’, ‘Nervous System’,
‘Modern Unit’ (all female), ‘Primadonna’ (all female), ‘Subcutaneous Theatre’ (with John Murphy) releases – ‘Shining Vrill’, and ‘Extreme Music from Women’ – Whitehouse London.
(to name a few). Debra has exhibited both Nationally in Australia and Internationally and is noted for her interactive installations.
Selections include: ISEA, MAP in Beijing China, Festival of Electronic Art – Videobrasil Sao Paulo, European Media Art Festival – Germany, Berlin Film Festival – Germany.
