David Geiss grew up in the 1980s and 90s on a family farm near Regina, Saskatchewan. He obtained a BFA in Film & Video Production on scholarship from the University of Regina, and has since been an independent filmmaker, artist, writer, and occasional performer. His work has been exhibited across Canada, the United States, and Europe. His documentary film Stubblejumper has screened at festivals internationally, and was recently selected to be part of World AIDS Day 2009 programming on OUTtv. In 2006 his film Queen City won the Best Documentary Award at the Canadian National Youth Film Festival in Ottawa. He has jumped genres, appearing in recurring actor roles on the TV comedy Corner Gas, and serving for four years as Editor of the independent film magazine Splice. David has dedicated much volunteer time to organizations including Saskatchewan Filmpool Cooperative, Regal Social Association of Regina, and Queer City Cinema Film Festival. He currently resides in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
