Rita Barros is a Portuguese born photographer who has been living in New York City since 1980. She is the author of the acclaimed photography book “15 Years: Chelsea Hotel” a document of her neighbors at the mythical Chelsea Hotel in NY where she stills resides.
Her work has appeared in such publications as Newsweek, NY Times, Vogue, Elle, Zoom, NY Magazine, Expresso. Nouvel Observateur.
Her work has been exhibited in Encontros de Coimbra and Museu da Ãgua in Portugal, Museu de Arte Contemporânea de São Paulo, Brazil, Wilfredo Lam Contemporary Art Museum, Havana, and PS1, New York.
