Dennis McNulty
works with sound in a variety of contexts. Earlier this year he left Decal, a band of which he had been a member for nearly a decade. In the early nineties he co-founded the ultramack/u:mack label and studios and as one half of Decal, released three albums and many other tracks on a number of international and Irish labels, among them Planet-Mu, Warp and Rotters Golf Club.
Since graduating from the Music and Media Technology Course (Trinity College) in 2000, his interests have been focussed on generative sonic systems and electronic improvisation. In recent years, this has led to the creation of a number of sound installations : Decompression2 @ the Captains Road, Dublin 2002 Falkens Maze @ the Darklight Film Festival, Dublin 2002 with Decaland participation in a number of improvised musical/multimedia performances : VM.01 @ the Hoxton Distillery, London , 2003 Darklight Film Festival opening event, Decal with David Lacey and Tim Redfern an improvised performance @ DATA 11 with David Lacey
Cliona Harmey
is an Irish artist who works with a variety of media such as video installation, books, photography and the internet. Her current practice is primarily concerned with the recording and resampling of the minutiae of mutable natural phenomena such as rain, wind or tidal movement.
She has participated in numerous exhibitions and projects Internationally, including; VM.01 @ Hoxton Distillery London,’Tis, State of the Art Gallery, New York; Thaw 01, The Institute of Communication and Culture, Iowa; Vdor Break 21, Llubijana, Slovenia; The Reading Room, Catalyst Arts, Belfast.In 2000 Cliona created the project Sequent during a year long Residency at Arthouse Multimedia Centre Dublin. She lives in Dublin and currently lectures in the Media Department at the National College of Art and Design, Dublin.
