Ramona Poenaru (Romania)


Ramona Poenaru
is a woman mix-media artist and performer born in 1972 in a small city from Rumanian Transylvania.
She studies romance languages and litteratures and visual arts in Cluj-Napoca (Romania) of 1990 to 1995 – the effervescent period immediately after the fall of Communism. Then, as she could not hope anything more and that she have anymore patience, she leaves Romania while choosing France. Its personal and collective projects in the field of the image, multi-media, performance and dance were presented in France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Serbia, Morocco,
Romania, Canada, the USA.

She takes part of the collective: interim – équipe d’artistes (interim – team of artists), which intervenes in the urban, rural, patrimonial environment and in other fields in prospect (http://www.interim-artistes.info). More recently, she works with Rumanian contemporary musicians (Iancu Dumitrescu & Ana-Maria Avram, Mihaela Vosganian, Irinel Anghel, Andrei Kivu, Dinu Ghezzo) by creating video installations and devices of live video improvisation which integrate sometimes the presence of dancers and performers (spectacles in Bucharest, New York, Stuttgart).

Now she lives and works in Strasbourg (France) and Bucharest (Romania).
