First solo show – Blimey! Feb 11-22nd 2002, Tampa, FL. USA. http://www.stresspuppy.net/blimey.

“The intent of the exhibition was to set up a discourse between traditional and digital artworks as well as offering ironic pieces accenting on cross-Atlantic cultural identity. Focusing on digital and non-digital intersections in art and the dichotomy therein, the works confront the anti-tactile nature of art galleries and the reluctance audiences have to interact with ‘Art’. Merging the two worlds of gallery and networked art, mikeS breaks conceptual boundaries by utilizing familiar computer objects – as well as code and the computers themselves – to push the audience expectancy of what digital art both is and can be.” (“scum” debut)

Mike Salmond is lead design member on the Committee for the International Symposium on Electronic Theses and Dissertations USA, and has worked with Caiia-Star (University of Plymouth, Devon, UK) as a member of the production team that created an interactive installation at Millia, (International Content Market for Interactive Media), Cannes, France.
