I am a photographer and digital artist working as a graphic design instructor at the Arts Academy in the Woods. My location, just north of Detroit, has had a huge influence on my work. When I first moved here, I was afraid to drive through the bad parts of the city. Over the last few years, fear has given in to exhilaration. I love cruising through the city, shooting abandoned buildings. The vastness of some of the empty buildings leaves areas of Detroit looking like a war-torn country. Within the desolation, here are beautiful textures and incredibly rich colors.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in painting from Simon’s Rock College, and am currently working on a Master’s Degree in Multimedia Studies from the University of Southern Queensland.
