Jo Cook
Jo Cook graduated in painting from Emily Carr College of Art in Vancouver, B.C. Canada and immediately upon graduating set down her brushes and started drawing. In 2002 she will be exhibiting her drawing and sculptural installations at artist’s run centres from coast to coast, across Canada in Victoria, Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, and Halifax. Several of her artist’s books traveled with the BookMobile/MobileLivre across North America in 2001 and two new books will be making another tour in 2002. Cook has worked on a number of collaborative internet projects including savedAsaFriend for: NETWORKS http://www.rca.nf.ca/gallery. Her virtual identities can be viewed at http://www.asianavennue.com and currently there are seven personae, both male and female, ranging in age from 13 to 32:

She is also co-founder of the Republican Pictorial Society, established to promote the practice of collaborative and improvisational drawing sessions where process itself becomes an art, with its own set of techniques and concepts. She lives and works on Mayne Island, B.C., Canada.
