Born in Trento (Northern Italy) in 1979, Sara Lenzi started the study of piano at the age of seven. At ten, she entered the local Conservatory, where in 1994, besides the study of piano she started also that of saxophone. In 1998 she moved to Bologna, where she obtained her saxophone diploma in 2001. During the same year, she started the study of electronic music. In 2003 she got a first level diploma in Sound design for multimedia systems, and in 2005 she graduated in electronic music at the Conservatory of Bologna. In 2004, she had obtained a degree in philosophy at the Bologna University. During her student’s years, Sara has participated with her electroacoustic compositions to several experimental music festivals (Angelica Festival, Bologna; Musica Insieme Festival, Panicale). Nowadays she continue her work as an electroacoustic composer and her research on sound; she works as a sound designer & technician for the local municipality, and follows a Master course in “Sound installation for architectural and multimedia locations”, at the Centro Tempo Reale, Firenze. Her research at the moment deals with the identity of sound in relation with the space, in the double meaning of the “internal” space of the composition, and the “external” space of the live projection/performance, and the relations between internal/external.
