Interview for SIP – SoundLAB Interview project
Working as a video artist and sculptor for most of his time, Matthew Giraudeau has also been recording electronic music for 5 years. Self taught on a wide range of instruments, he switches between cleverly crafted pop music, and abstract electronica works. It is this paradoxical way of working that excites him the most, moving in quick succession from atonal textures to simple, harmonic diversions. He has produced four solo albums and is at this point working on an album of glitch-folk, various collaborations and a collection of synth and sample based works.
