Branka Bencic
born in Pula (croatia) 1972. BA in Art History and BA in Comparative Literature, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb, Croatia. Currently attending MA courses in Cultural Studies and preparing the MA thesis at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb. Independant curator and art critic. Lives and works in Pula and Zagreb. Writes on contemporary art and visual culture in exhibition catalogues, magazines and local newspaper (Glas Istre) . Since 1994. associate at the Pula Film Festival. In collaboration with HDLUI – Association of croatian artists Istra curated several artists’ solo exhibitions ( Igor Zirojevic: Digitaldiary, Petar Brajnovic: kino ISTRA, Alexandra Rotar: Time reshaped, Denis Sardoz: Traces of earth…) Author and curator of cinemania(C) international annual video exhibition and project, first edition in July 2002, side event at the 49.
