JOYCE CHARIS

Joyce Charis (Hariklia Hari) was born in Athens in 1970 and studied Architecture at the Aristotle University, Thessaloniki. In practice in Athens since 1995.

From 1996 she collaborates in various architectural and art magazines («Architecture in Greece”, “Art and Design in Greece”, “A3 Architecture”, “The Art Magazine-net”) and publishes articles in monthly magazines and newspapers.
Exhibited in architectural group exhibitions: Public Space in the ninties “Mirka-Angel Galery”, Athens, 1997 and “Foka Gallery”, Thessaloniki, 1997 , First Greek Festival for Art and Technology, “Fournos”, Athens, 1998, 3rd Exhibition of Architectural Work, Patra, 2000, 3rd Biennial of young Architects, Athens, 2001, International Festival of Architecture on video, Florence, 2002, Suburbia, Athens, 2002, Playgrounds and Toys, London, 2002
Participated in symposiums about art and architecture : Architecture and Deconstruction,TEE Patras, 1997, City and Utopia, Pantios University, Athens, 1998, 2nd Biennial of Young Architects, Cultural Center of Municipality of Athens, 1999, Participation on a discusion about Solid Sea-Multiplicity, Documenta XI, Kassel, 2002
She participated at the organization of the group exhibition Greek Realities (Berlin, 1996 and Odense, 1997) and co-curated the exhibition Kiss from Greece (Paris, 1998, Wien, 1999, Berlin, 2000).

From 1998 she has participated in Actions in the City of Athens and Patras, with the architectural group “Urban Void”.
