Alison Chung-Yan is a composer and media artist based in Ottawa, Canada. Her new media works have been showcased at the Images Festival (Toronto), ZeD.cbc.ca and at the Java Museum for Internet Technologies in Contemporary Arts. She is currently focused on the creation of interactive sound and video installations with funding awarded by the Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council and the Corel Endowment Fund for the Arts.
Classically trained in piano performance under the Western Ontario Conservatory of Music, Alison also holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo and is a graduate of Carleton University’s Sonic Design program and the Canadian Screen Training Centre’s Summer Institute for Film and Television.
She is the founder of Sonic Scape Productions and is a member of the Digital Media Professionals Association, the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada (SOCAN), the Guild of Canadian Film Composers and the Canadian Electroacoustic Community.
