Esther Bourdages is a Montreal based art historian and author of many articles and critical commentaries on contermporary art. She holds a Masters in Art History from the Universite de Montreal, where she focussed on new forms of sculpture within an expanded field. This brought her to explore art in situ, installation art, sound art and more recently, multimedia and web art. She is also involved with some artist-run centers in Montreal and collaborates with the collectives Quartier Ephemere, vinyl interventions trio, mobilegaze, muzikaktiv, notype and Dame. She makes audio art under the name of esther b. where she plays portable turntables, manipulating and destroying vinyl. She is part of the Adminstrative Board of Ecube (art association), shares the dark room and is responsible for some of their art events. At Ecube, she curates a series of concerts of experimental music named “Un microphone dans une tempete de noize” [A Microphone in a Strom of Noize] .
