Metka Zupanič (1977) and Vesna Bukovec (1977) are artists and curators, members of the art group KOLEKTIVA. They have both graduated and completed Master’s degree from Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana. They are both active as individual authors and in a group KOLEKTIVA. KOLEKTIVA has presented its projects in several solo exhibitions in Nottingham (2004), Zagreb (2004), Celje (2004), Graz (2006), Ljubljana (2007), Maribor (2008), Warsaw (2010) and in many international group exhibitions, such as: 11th Biennial of the Young Artists of Europe and the Mediterranean, Athens (2003); Young Art Europe, MOYA Museum of Young Art, Vienna (2005); Narratives: -35/+65, Two Generations, Museum Joanneum, Kunsthaus, Graz (2006); E-motion to cohabit, Galleria d’Arte Moderna Palazzo Forti, Verona, (2010).
KOLEKTIVA is also curating and organizing video exhibitions. Metka Zupanič and Vesna Bukovec have curated Video in Progress 2: City Perspectives, which was the video part of the exhibition PHOTONIC, LUMINATIC: New Slovenian Photography and Video (2008/09), KOLEKTIVA (Vesna Bukovec, Lada Cerar, Metka Zupanič) curated international video exhibition Video in Progress 3: Fields of the Performative (2009). KOLEKTIVA has also organized video exhibition RED: The Gendered Color in Frames, curated by Evelin Stermitz (2010) and Bosnia & Herzegovina Video Art: namaTRE.ba Project, curated by Igor Bošnjak (2010). In December 2010 KOLEKTIVA started in cooperation with Ljubljana based Photon Gallery a new series of monthly screenings events Video večer / Video Evening in which they screen video selections prepared by various invited artists, curators, institutions, associations and festivals.
