Short biography
Macarena (1985) has a degree in visual arts from the Pontificia Universidad Católica
de Chile (2008). She grew up in a small town and has always had creative tendencies. Her work is constructed from original material and adaptations of sound, images and text apropriated from the arts and mass media. In her practice, she is attracted to warm atmospheres, rewriting and downloading material from the Internet. Macarena tries to express personal concerns emerging from the interaction of her biography and the historical period in which we live. She strives to delight as well as denounce.
