Bartira de Sena e Souza
I studied piano and flute when I was 7 years old but didn’t go on with a classic musician career. When 10-11 years old I started to edit my first tapes, literally pulling out the tapes and cutting pieces to later put them together swapping places with the help of masking tape. I’ve been working with sound arts for the past few years recording tapes and vinyl collages, accordion, guitar, bass and other instruments, toys, headphones turned into microphones together with pedals, use of feedback and vocals. I also did cut up texts and image collage works since I see this randomness and apparent limitation as an interesting ground to work and as a way to approach non- sense and a very wide range of sound and meanings.
