CIRIACA+ERRE, is an Italian artist. After exploring India at eighteen, she graduated with honours from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Italy. Participated in a workshop held by A.Muntadas. Her subsequent experience in communications, theatre, television and advertising now informs her artistic vision in various media including painting, sculptures, photography, video and installations. As her plume names suggests, Ciriaca+erre is primarily interested in the different ways the world can be seen. For her, art as well as science is rooted in uncertainty. Ciriaca+erre explores reality, collecting those unassuming everyday moments and images which are common to us all. Through her, thoughts and emotions about human nature are stimulated and amplified into a conscious analysis of life, the soul and the cultural and social values that come from within us.At present Ciriaca+erre’s research is concentrated on Identity. Her most recent works favour a infant scenario which the artist identifies as a mirror image in a social context, potentially rich and in a growth phase yet also quite disoriented and anomic, characterised by a general sense of in security.
Arte, La Repubblica, Modo, Verve, Vogue and others have featured Ciriaca+erre’s work. Banca Esperia dedicated to her an exclusive event, she has exhibited at the exhibition “Beauty Not So Difficult” at the Palazzo delle Stelline in Milan and at the Institute for Italian Culture in Berlin. She has created a new style concept for a major airline, and created a sculpture for the Park Museum in Portofino. In 2009 she was a finalist in the Terna’s Prize, in 2001 she was a finalist in the Cairo Communication Prize and in 1999 was among ten young Italian artists selected for the project Levi’s Self Expression. Ciriaca+erre can also be found at many international art-fair and her work has been shown in a different galleries.
