Ute Hörner and Mathias Antlfinger studied sculpture, mathematics and cybernetics, followed by media art at the academy of media arts in Cologne and were founders of the group XObject Space, Lab for Art and New Media. Today they teach at the University of Arts and Design in Halle. Since the early 90s they have collaborated in their practice which incorporates CD-ROM and interactive film projects as well as 3D-realtime installations and Netart projects. From the beginning the analysis of the conditions of cultural practice plays a central role in their projects. The artworks of Hörner|Antlfinger operate between the frontiers of Fine Arts, journalism, computergames, between documentary and fiction. The red thread trough their projects is the narrative as social and cultural practice and the analysis of the narrative and its use as a basic key to the understanding of Identity. They both live in Berlin.
